Suberant (Grip Plate) is a product that ensures safety. It creates an anti-slip coat on steel plates to prevent slippages due to water or oil.
Thanks to the extraordinary grip that Suberant (Grip Plate) provides, slip and fall accidents can be reduced.

Suberan (Grip Plate) is an anti-slip steel plate that has extraordinary levels of grip. By spraying metals, alloys or ceramics, a fine texture with bumps of tens to hundreds of μm in size is formed. This product has been developed together with NIPPON STEEL CORPORATION and is being delivered to all areas of industry as a safety product.
Moreover, unlike paints or tapes, there is no need to worry about the possibility of the coating peeling off or emitting dust, so it is suitable for use in clean and hygienic environments.

We conducted BPN measurements to evaluate the performance of the products.
BPN measurements were invented by the Transport Research Laboratory in the U.K. as a way to assess the slip-resistance of floors. A pendulum with a rubber slider on its end is released, and the energy loss is measured when the edge of the rubber slider strikes the floor. According to the Guideline for the Construction of Pavement Designs by the Japan Road Association, a skid resistance (target value) of at least 40 BPN is sufficient for pedestrians and bicyclists to avoid a feeling of slipperiness. As such, we have introduced a standard of at least 40 BPN.

As a rule of thumb, Suberant (Grip Plate) will last about 4 or 5 years in areas in which people work every day, but its useful life will vary depending on the frequency of operations and traffic.
As an example, in the restoration work of Himeji Castle, Suberant (Grip Plate) was adopted for the slope walkway used by people viewing the castle from outside in 2011. Even after a four-year construction period, the slope has maintained its high skid coefficient, with its BPN remaining over 40.

1. Which type of Suberant (Grip Plate) would be suitable for us?

You should use the indoor version for indoor environments such as factories, and the outdoor version for outdoor environment, or in places that can become wet.

2. Is it possible to process Suberant (Grip Plate), such as cutting or drilling it?

 Yes, you can easily cut or drill Suberant (Grip Plate) with general tools and methods.
If you instruct us to do processing for you, we will do so.

3. Is it possible to you to apply your anti-slip spray on a substrate we have prepared?

 If you send it to our factory, we’ll be glad to spray the coating on it and return it to you.
We can spray the coating on stainless steel and aluminum substrates as well as on iron.

4. Can both types of Suberant (Grip Plate) have color applied to them? (Can they be painted?)

For both the indoors and outdoors of the products, the only metallic color that we have is dark (black).
However, for ceramics-type colors, we have 20 variations of colors.

5. Is it possible to paint the surface of Suberant (Grip Plate)?

 The rugged surface of Suberant (Grip Plate) allows it to exhibit its high-grip performance.
While it is possible to paint it, if you apply a thick coat of paint, you will fill in the roughness of the surface, causing its grip performance to decrease.

1. For how many years will we be able to use Suberant (Grip Plate)?
That depends on the site conditions. Where the indoors version is used, in the case of work areas, Suberant (Grip Plate) will last 4 or 5 years. For areas which are only used for inspections and periodic repair, there are cases in which this product has lasted for over ten years.
2. Do we need to do maintenance on Suberant (Grip Plate)?
When its surface is clogged with dust, remove it with a pressure washing machine and a scrubbing brush. Doing this will restore the grip performance of Suberant (Grip Plate).
