Anticorrosive Iron Manhole Cover

We offer products that use our anticorrosive thermal spray technology, which has high anticorrosive performance realized through our research and long experience.

What is an Anticorrosive Iron Manhole Cover?

Manhole covers thermally sprayed with an anticorrosive to give them longer life spans in various corrosive environments. The anticorrosive protects the manhole cover even in a highly corrosive environment and provides a safe iron manhole cover that will last a long time.

Corrosion of an iron manhole cover

The surface of an iron cover installed above a sewer is subject to environmental pollutants and seawater. The underside is affected and corroded by water droplets into which corrosive gases generated from hot spring water or sewage are absorbed.
Corroded iron covers spoil the scenery with their red rust. Because their strength wanes, accidents are more likely to happen. In addition, iron covers can get stuck to the receiving frame and if the iron cover sticks up above the road surface, it will become an obstacle to running cars and cause a rattling noise.

Application case studies

Iron covers with anticorrosive thermally sprayed on them have been adopted by local municipalities that recognize the high anticorrosive performance.

Installation example

Before installation

The cover was installed on a seaside road. The untreated iron cover (paint only) generated rust and discolored as a result of seawater corrosion (salt damage) only one year later. The cover also got stuck to the receiving frame.

Underside

The paint came off due to the passage of vehicles and the cover has a metallic luster.
However, both the top and bottom surfaces of our product are free of red rust even six years after installation and they are still of sufficiently good quality.
